Module Goals:

Because collaborative learning is a meaningful way for students to create new knowledge and understand what they read, instructors can help students tremendously by organizing reading groups. This module provides guidelines for creating effective reading groups and encourages instructors to make use of these groups during class time when appropriate. Reading groups can be used throughout the semester to help build more effective reading comprehension.

Our learning goals for this module are:

  • Faculty will gain an awareness of collaborative learning benefits and their impact on reading comprehension.
  • Faculty will learn application strategies for creating effective student reading groups.
