Dual credit is another initiative that creates the opportunity for high school students to take courses at the college level. Dual credit courses achieve multiple purposes:
- Students receive simultaneous academic credit for courses from both college and high school.
- Students who have mastered or nearly mastered high school curriculum are challenged with college-level coursework that is more enriched and rigorous.
- Students avoid unnecessary duplication in coursework as they move from high school to college.
