Module Nine: Academic Educational Supplements

Online Academic ResourcesAcademic resources now extend well beyond the traditional model of faculty knowledge and textbook content. The Internet has created resources that are extremely current, robust, and engaging. However, identifying these resources can often be time consuming and daunting. In this section, you will find a number of different academic resources, covering a variety of topical areas.
The four links take you to useful resources. Why not include some information for the faculty that helps them assess whether or not to use these resources in their curriculum? What are some of the factors, for example, to consider when selecting resources like these? Should they be contemplating creating their own or student materials to post in iTunes university? Are there particular ways to approach incorporating these resources into instructional plans? Why not include an explanation of information literacy in this introduction? It would help to provide a framework for this module. This list is not extensive, but provides a jump-start to the vast array of online resources. Before you begin… take a look at how one technology RSA Animate “teaches” the changing education paradigms.
